Top Stories Shopping in Milford hits the information superhighway By: Julia Cooper, Assistant Editor 05/05/2005 Now Milford citizens can shop at a local store without leaving the comforts of home. Cavington LLC will be having its grand opening on May 12 and all of its operations will be done on the Internet. Milford resident Tracy Lambert will own and operate the store`s site, www.cavington.com. According to Lambert, Cavington.com will offer a wide variety of gifts and novelty items. There`s going to be something for everyone, Lambert said. I have a lot of different interests, and the store is a larger reflection of me. Lambert`s inventory will include vintage and nostalgia items, inspirational and religious figurines, culture and heritage goods from different countries, and many others. There will be boutique-type things, said Lambert. We`ll have rare jewelry you don`t normally see and traditional knick-knacks. Lambert added that there will be something for both men and women. One such category is one of Lambert`s unique hobbies. I like car racing, said Lambert. I have my NASCAR license, but I`m not out there with a number yet. I`m just practicing now. Aside from speeding around the track on her own, Lambert will offer NASCAR fans a variety of racing paraphernalia. There will also be offerings linked to the Milford landscape. Being on the shoreline in Milford, we will also have some nautical-themed items, added Lambert. Lambert emphasized that even though the Cavington.com inventory will be quite diverse, special orders are not a problem. Our inventories are continuously being updated, so new product choices will be coming out all the time, Lambert explained. Customers can always request products in our suggestion box, too. If we don`t have it, we will try to get it. Lambert also said she will offer offices and corporations the opportunity to buy special business items. We will have a small corporate center, she said. Businesses can purchase promotional items like mugs and wooden business cards, which are actually pretty neat. Aside from the wide variety of gifts and novelty items, Cavington.com will provide links to other businesses both local and non-local. So far Lambert said she has linked her site to Creative Health and Fitness and Immaculate Carpet, both Milford-based, and Rushefki Consulting, a Newtown-based firm. Those links, Lambert hopes, will continue to grow, as well as the site itself. Cavington.com will be continuously updated with new items, as well as seasonal products for the holidays.
